Day 1|Ulaanbaatar City Tour

Transportation: Van or bus – approx. 1.5 hrs / 55 km from the airport to the city center

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the vibrant capital of Mongolia. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to the city center. 

Visit the Chinggis Khaan Museum, which holds over 10,000 original artifacts spanning Mongolian history from the Hun Empire to the 20th century, and Sukhbaatar Square, the cultural and historical heart of the city. 

After hotel check-in, enjoy an evening traditional Mongolian folklore performance featuring throat singing, contortion, and morin khuur (horse-head fiddle), followed by a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2|Trek to the Turgen River Valley

Trekking: approx. 7 hours / 17–18 km

The first full trekking day heads up toward the Uliastai mountain pass, where snow-capped peaks, red mountain ridges, and the first alpine lakes of the route come into view from the top. After a picnic lunch on the mountainside, the afternoon follows lakeside meadows down into the Turgen River valley.

Day 3|Fly to Lake Khuvsgul National Park

Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Murun, the provincial capital of Khuvsgul.

Flight: Ulaanbaatar – Murun (Approx. 1 hour 20 minutes)

Upon arrival, visit the remarkable Uushgiin Uvur Deer Stone Complex, one of Mongolia's most important Bronze Age archaeological sites, featuring beautifully carved deer stones and ancient burial monuments.

Continue through picturesque forests and mountain scenery to the shores of magnificent Lake Khuvsgul, known as the "Dark Blue Pearl of Mongolia." After checking into your lakeside lodge, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views.

Day 4|Lake Khuvsgul & Tsaatan Reindeer Herders

Continue riding through vast desert valleys and remote dune landscapes. Experience the peaceful rhythm of camel travel and the unique beauty of the Gobi wilderness.

Spend the day exploring the pristine beauty of Lake Khuvsgul National Park, one of Mongolia's most spectacular natural destinations. Surrounded by dense taiga forests and rugged mountains, the lake is among the oldest and purest freshwater lakes in the world.

In the afternoon, visit a Tsaatan reindeer herder family and a nearby sacred shamanic site. Learn about the traditions, beliefs, and unique lifestyle of one of Mongolia's smallest indigenous communities, whose culture remains closely connected to their reindeer.

Return to your lodge in the evening and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere beside the lake.

Day 5|Return to Ulaanbaatar & Terelj National Park

Today is the final day of the camel-riding expedition. Ride toward Duhum Lake, a rare desert oasis and seasonal habitat for migratory birds.

After breakfast, drive back to Murun Airport for your return flight to Ulaanbaatar.
